The Hizmet Movement is a civic initiative focused on building a more peaceful and inclusive global society. With origins in Turkey, it has had a highly positive and measurable impact worldwide. This same movement has been accused of terrorism by the current Turkish government and ruthlessly persecuted in Turkey and abroad.

The exhibition Beyond The Water brings together photographs and personal accounts of a little talked about group of refugees: Turkish citizens forced to escape their own seemingly progressive nation to neighbouring Greece. Alex Morel is a Photographer and Professor of Visual Arts at St. John’s University in New York.
